Meet the Bululú

  • Bululú is a multifaceted project that combines music and theater to tell universal stories. A colorful mix of sounds with surprising combinations of instruments and artistic discoveries are the hallmarks of Bululú.

Bululú was founded in 2021 as a joint initiative of violinist Dalina Ugarte and pianist Joseph Avila. In the same year they participate in the first edition of the Oorkann-Jeunesse Masterclasses for Young Audiences, directed by Caecilia Thunnissen, and through collaboration with directors and choreographers they create two "Miniatures" video productions in the "Staged Concert" format.

In early 2022, Bululú made the first self-produced short film "Self-Portrait": the journey of two young musicians who dream of breaking through in the cradle of classical music. The music was recorded by Fiakka Studios at the Bösendorfer Hall.

This spring they toured several Austrian cities with the concert series "Triolino | Hui, wie bunt!" organized by Jeunesse.

Upcoming performances include a concert at the Kultursommer Wien 2022 with their production "tränen/lachen," as well as concerts at the Brucknerhaus in Linz as part of the "mini.music" concert series in the fall.
